About Stuart

Stu counsels clients operating in the cannabis industry on licensing, regulatory compliance, and enforcement matters. Stu provides legal assistance to clients with cannabis and cannabis-related business operations. He helps cannabis clients, large and small, navigate the ever-changing state and local regulatory requirements to obtain licenses and become and remain compliant and operational. Stu has established strong working relationships with a range of industry and regulatory stakeholders that he leverages to help clients resolve disputes and capitalize on strategic business opportunities. He also defends cannabis clients in regulatory enforcement matters, investigations, administrative proceedings, and other cannabis-related civil disputes, including commercial and IP litigation. Before joining Holland & Hart, Stu practiced Cannabis law at Greenspoon Marder and worked as an Assistant City Attorney for the Denver City Attorney's Office. He founded the Cannabis Law League at the University of Colorado Law School.
