Terms of Service

    Last Updated: January 23, 2025

    1. Acceptance of Terms

Welcome to AttorneyReview ("Company," "we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using our website, mobile applications, and services (collectively, the "Services"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our Services.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and AttorneyReview. We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time, and such modifications will be effective immediately upon posting. Your continued use of the Services following any modifications indicates your acceptance of the modified Terms.

    2. Nature of Our Services

2.1 AttorneyReview Is Not a Law Firm

IMPORTANT: AttorneyReview is NOT a law firm and does NOT provide legal advice, legal services, or legal representation. AttorneyReview is a marketing and advertising platform that connects consumers seeking legal services with independent attorneys and law firms who have chosen to participate in our network.

    2.2 No Attorney-Client Relationship

Your use of AttorneyReview does NOT create an attorney-client relationship between you and AttorneyReview, or between you and any attorney listed on our platform until you have signed an engagement letter or retainer agreement directly with that attorney. Information submitted through our platform is NOT protected by attorney-client privilege until an attorney-client relationship is formally established.

    2.3 Attorney Matching Service

AttorneyReview provides a platform for users to submit inquiries about legal matters and be connected with attorneys who may be able to assist. We do not guarantee that any attorney will accept your case, that any attorney is suitable for your particular legal needs, or that using our Services will result in a favorable legal outcome.

    3. Attorney Participation and Advertising

    3.1 Participating Attorneys

Attorneys listed on AttorneyReview are independent legal professionals who have chosen to participate in our network. "Accredited" attorneys have entered into a paid marketing agreement with AttorneyReview and receive priority placement and lead routing. Non-accredited attorney listings are provided for informational purposes only.

    3.2 Attorney Advertising

THIS IS ATTORNEY ADVERTISING. Attorney listings, profiles, and content on AttorneyReview constitute attorney advertising. The information provided about attorneys is supplied by the attorneys themselves or gathered from public sources. AttorneyReview does not endorse, recommend, or guarantee the services of any attorney listed on our platform.

    3.3 No Endorsement

Inclusion on AttorneyReview, whether as an accredited or non-accredited listing, does not constitute an endorsement, recommendation, or certification of any attorney's qualifications, competence, or quality of legal services. Past results described in attorney profiles do not guarantee similar outcomes in your case.

    4. Lead Distribution and Contact

    4.1 Lead Sharing

When you submit your information through AttorneyReview, your inquiry may be shared with one or more participating attorneys or law firms who practice in your requested area and geographic location. You may be contacted by multiple attorneys regarding your inquiry.

    4.2 Consent to Contact

By submitting your information through AttorneyReview, you expressly consent to be contacted by AttorneyReview and participating attorneys by telephone (including automated dialers and pre-recorded messages), email, and text message at the number(s) and email address(es) you provide, regarding your legal inquiry. This consent is not required as a condition of purchasing any goods or services. Message and data rates may apply.

    4.3 Compensation Disclosure

AttorneyReview receives compensation from participating attorneys for lead referrals and marketing services. This compensation may influence which attorneys appear in search results, receive priority placement, or are contacted about your inquiry. Attorneys who pay higher fees may receive preferential treatment in lead distribution and visibility on the platform.

    5. User Responsibilities

    5.1 Accurate Information

You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information when using our Services. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of any account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

    5.2 Independent Verification

You are solely responsible for independently verifying any attorney's credentials, licensing status, disciplinary history, malpractice insurance, and suitability for your legal needs before retaining their services. We encourage you to verify attorney licensing through your state bar association.

    5.3 Prohibited Uses

You agree not to use our Services for any unlawful purpose, to submit false or misleading information, to interfere with the operation of our Services, or to attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems.

    6. User-Generated Content

    6.1 Reviews and Ratings

AttorneyReview may allow users to submit reviews, ratings, and comments about attorneys ("User Content"). By submitting User Content, you represent and warrant that:

    • Your User Content is based on your genuine experience
    • Your User Content is accurate and not misleading
    • You are not affiliated with or compensated by any attorney you review
    • Your User Content does not violate any third-party rights or applicable laws

    6.2 Content Accuracy Disclaimer

Reviews and ratings represent the personal opinions of users and have not been verified by AttorneyReview. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any User Content. You should not rely solely on reviews when selecting an attorney.

    6.3 Content Removal

AttorneyReview reserves the right, but is not obligated, to remove, edit, or reject any User Content at our sole discretion, including content that:

    • Is defamatory, false, or misleading
    • Violates attorney-client privilege
    • Contains personal attacks, threats, or harassment
    • Is spam, advertising, or promotional content
    • Violates any applicable law or regulation

    6.4 License to User Content

By submitting User Content, you grant AttorneyReview a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, and fully sublicensable right to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, and distribute such content throughout the world in any media.

    7. Third-Party Services and Links

    7.1 Third-Party Websites

Our Services may contain links to third-party websites, applications, or services, including but not limited to attorney websites, state bar association sites, and online notarization services (such as Notarize.com). These links are provided for your convenience only.

    7.2 No Endorsement

AttorneyReview does not endorse, control, or assume responsibility for any third-party websites or services linked from our platform. Your use of third-party services is at your own risk and subject to those services' terms and privacy policies. We are not liable for any damages or losses arising from your use of third-party services.

    7.3 Online Notarization Services

AttorneyReview may recommend or link to third-party online notarization providers. These services are independent of AttorneyReview, and we make no representations or warranties about their services, accuracy, or legal validity in your jurisdiction. You are responsible for verifying that any notarization service meets your legal requirements.

    9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ATTORNEYREVIEW DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

    11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless AttorneyReview and its officers, directors, employees, agents, and affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use of the Services; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your violation of any third-party rights; (d) any User Content you submit; or (e) any dispute between you and any attorney found through our Services.

    12.3 Class Action Waiver

YOU AGREE THAT ANY CLAIMS AGAINST ATTORNEYREVIEW MUST BE BROUGHT IN YOUR INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY AND NOT AS A PLAINTIFF OR CLASS MEMBER IN ANY PURPORTED CLASS OR REPRESENTATIVE PROCEEDING.

    12.4 Small Claims Exception

Notwithstanding the above, either party may bring an individual action in small claims court for disputes within the court's jurisdiction.

    13. Force Majeure

    14.2 Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any other policies referenced herein, constitute the entire agreement between you and AttorneyReview regarding your use of the Services.

    14.3 Assignment

You may not assign or transfer these Terms or your rights hereunder without our prior written consent. AttorneyReview may assign these Terms without restriction, including in connection with a merger, acquisition, corporate reorganization, or sale of all or substantially all of our assets. Any attempted assignment in violation of this section shall be void.

    14.4 Waiver

Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that provision or any other provision. Any waiver must be in writing and signed by AttorneyReview.
