    About Christopher

As both a lawyer and certified public accountant, Christopher J. Dine represents corporations, partnerships, limited liability companies (LLCs), trusts, foundations, and individual clients in tax, general business, and commercial matters. He regularly advises religious, non-profit, and tax-exempt organizations relating to obtaining and maintaining exempt status, corporate governance affairs, and general operational issues. Mr. Dine works extensively with the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Detroit, the most populous diocese in the State of Michigan, with 1.3 million Catholic residents, and whose mission is to administer Roman Catholic parishes and schools within the City of Detroit as well as Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, St. Clair, Monroe, and Lapeer counties. He also represents financial institutions in federal and state tax credit transactions, such as Historic Tax Credits (HTCs) and Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC), using his knowledge and skills to structure, negotiate, and document such deals on their behalf. Mr. Dine has leadership roles both inside and outside of work, serving as the Chair of Bodman's Tax practice and a member of the firm’s Executive Committee. He also serves on the Board of Directors for Michigan Community Resources, a statewide non-profit organization that offers legal, planning, education, and outreach services to community-based organizations in low-income communities. Mr. Dine is a Fellow of the Michigan State Bar Foundation, which provides leadership and grants to (1) improve access to justice for all, particularly through civil legal services to low-income families and individuals across the state, and (2) improve the administration of justice through the funding of innovative law-related education and conflict resolution projects geared toward children and the general public. The foundation extends fellowship to a limited number of lawyers, and they are chosen for their outstanding legal ability and service to the community.
