Brett Beter is an associate in the Corporate Practice Group. Brett represents public- and private-company clients in a broad range of corporate matters, including (i) complex mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and reorganizations; (ii) corporate governance matters; and (iii) compliance with the disclosure requirements of the securities laws and national securities exchanges. While in law school, Brett was the senior notes and comments editor of the Sports Lawyers Journal, a legal research and writing senior fellow, and the treasurer of the Sports Law Society. As an undergraduate, he was a two-semester portfolio manager for the $2 million Student Managed Investment Fund and also studied international politics at Imperial College in London, England, through Louisiana State University's study abroad program. Prior to joining Jones Walker, Brett completed internships with the Oakland Raiders' football operations department, the New Orleans Saints' legal department, the Port of New Orleans' legal department, US Senator David Vitter, and the Honorable Judge Fredericka Homberg Wicker.
