Benjamin L. Gould

Benjamin Gould has a dual practice in the areas of Real Estate Transactions and Captive Insurance Law. Ben represents parties in the purchase, sale, leasing, and financing of real estate in Vermont and Massachusetts, ranging from multi-million dollar commercial projects to residential dwellings and condominium units. Ben has particular experience in examining title to real property and resolving any issues that might be discovered. Ben’s real estate clients include prominent Vermont developers, educational institutions, entrepreneurs, foreign companies seeking to establish an American presence, and individual homeowners. Ben also represents Vermont and Missouri captive insurance companies and risk retention groups, specializing in corporate transactions and matters of ongoing regulatory compliance. Finally, Ben provides advice on coverage determinations to risk retention groups and other non-traditional liability insurers. Ben’s captive insurance clients range from large companies owned by publicly-traded corporations with international operations, including numerous Fortune 500 companies, to small companies owned by privately-held, family-run businesses. Ben’s clients reflect a wide range of market sectors, including health care, construction, retail, manufacturing, finance, educational, and quasi-governmental. Prior to joining PF+C, Ben worked as an associate at Brown Rudnick LLP in Boston, Massachusetts, where he focused on commercial real estate transactions, siting and contracting for public utilities and telecommunications companies, and representation of bondholders in large-scale Chapter 11 bankruptcy cases. Before law school, Ben worked as a title examiner and paralegal for a residential real estate law firm in suburban Boston.
