How AttorneyReview Works

We believe in complete transparency. Here's exactly how our service works, how attorneys are featured, and how we're compensated.

    What We Do

AttorneyReview is a free service for consumers that connects people who need legal help with attorneys who may be able to assist. We are not a law firm and do not provide legal advice.

    1. You Search

Browse attorneys by practice area and location, or use our matching tool

    2. Submit Your Info

Tell us about your legal matter and provide your contact information

    3. Get Connected

Attorneys contact you to discuss your case and potential representation

    Understanding "Accredited" Attorneys

You'll notice some attorneys on our platform are labeled as "Accredited." Here's what that means and doesn't mean:

    What "Accredited" Means

    • Paid marketing partner — The attorney has a paid agreement with AttorneyReview

    • Priority visibility — Featured placement in search results

    • Active lead recipient — Receives inquiries from our matching service

    • Verified profile — Claimed and controls their listing

    What "Accredited" Does NOT Mean

    • Not an endorsement of skills, competence, or quality of services

    • Not an indicator of superior qualifications or better outcomes

    • Not a certification or credential from any bar association

    • Not a guarantee they will accept your case or achieve results

About non-accredited listings: These attorneys have not entered into a marketing agreement with us. Their profiles contain publicly available information. If you submit an inquiry for a non-accredited attorney, your information may be shared with accredited attorneys in your area who practice in the same field.

    How Attorney Rankings Work

We want you to understand exactly how attorneys appear in our search results and directories:

    1

    Accreditation Status

Accredited attorneys (paid partners) are shown before non-accredited listings in most views. This is a paid placement.

    2

    Subscription Tier

Among accredited attorneys, those with higher subscription tiers may receive priority placement. Higher tiers pay more for increased visibility.

    3

    Relevance to Your Search

Within each tier, attorneys are sorted by relevance to your search criteria, including practice area match and geographic proximity.

    4

    User Reviews

User reviews and ratings may influence ranking among attorneys with similar accreditation and relevance scores. All reviews are moderated before publication.

    How AttorneyReview Is Compensated

Our service is free for consumers. Here's how we make money:

    Lead Generation Fees

Participating attorneys pay us for leads—qualified inquiries from consumers seeking legal help. When you submit your information, we share it with attorneys who pay for access to potential clients.

    Monthly Subscriptions

Attorneys can subscribe to our platform for monthly fees that provide profile control, enhanced visibility, lead access, and other marketing benefits.

    Advertising

Attorney profiles and listings on AttorneyReview constitute paid advertising. Attorneys pay for the marketing services we provide.

    Phone Consultations

Our concierge phone service connects callers with appropriate attorneys. We may receive compensation for qualified phone connections of sufficient duration.

    Our Commitment to You

While we receive compensation from attorneys, our goal is to connect you with attorneys who can genuinely help with your legal needs. We encourage you to interview multiple attorneys, verify credentials independently, and choose the attorney who is the best fit for your situation—regardless of their listing status on our platform.

    Your Responsibilities

To protect yourself when seeking legal help:

Verify any attorney's license status with your state bar association
Check for any disciplinary history or complaints
Ask about the attorney's experience with cases like yours
Understand fee structures and get written engagement terms
Don't share sensitive information until you've signed a retainer agreement
Interview multiple attorneys before making a decision
Trust your instincts—you need to feel comfortable with your attorney
Remember: past results don't guarantee future outcomes
