About
Stacy Boven is a commercial litigation associate at Nixon Peabody who enjoys litigating high-stakes commercial disputes and appellate matters. What do you focus on? I focus on maximizing value for my clients. By developing a deep understanding of my client’s industry and individual interests, I am able to partner with clients to thwart litigation or swiftly solve those disputes that remain unavoidable. From the initial pleadings, through discovery and resolution, I am continuously seeking comprehensive solutions that will reduce costs and better protect my clients in the future. With extensive experience in navigating complex commercial matters for both plaintiffs and defendants, I have built a practice on managing arduous multiparty disputes and streamlining the litigation, trial, and settlement processes. Complex Commercial Litigation I work with a variety of clients on complex business litigations, including disputes over commercial contracts, licensing and distribution, corporate and fiduciary liability, partnership and shareholder issues, and business separations. I have also successfully prosecuted litigations on behalf of a self-insurance guarantee organization against members who failed to satisfy their obligations, and against directors, officers, and actuaries for breach of fiduciary duty and professional negligence. Understanding the tension between the increasing demand for transparency and the value of privacy, I’ve assisted clients with trade secret, non-competition agreements, Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), and California’s Public Records Act matters as well. My experience ranges across a variety of industries, including consumer products, beverage and alcohol, higher education, green technologies, insurance, and health care. Construction Litigation My team and I frequently represent private owners, public entities, and contractors in construction disputes involving breach of contract, licensing issues, product defect, personal injury/workplace safety, governmental immunity, comparative fault, and negligence. Appellate Litigation I represent corporate clients in high stakes state and federal appellate matters. I have sought and defended against writ petitions and appeals across an array of practice areas, including immigration, insurance, transportation, and consumer product.
