A strategic problem solver, Rob Kaufmann is known for bringing the right players to the table to complete real estate deals. For decades, his clients have relied on his unparalleled knowledge of both the legal and business sides of the real estate market. His national perspective and ability to steer clients—from national private equity companies and REITs to family-owned companies—through volatile markets make Rob the go-to lawyer for acquisition, development, financing, leasing and disposition of retail, office, multi-family, land, industrial and corporate office relocation projects and large portfolio transactions. Rob also represents private companies and entrepreneurs in diverse transactions, including acquisitions, public and private debt financing, joint ventures and general corporate governance. Rob serves on the firm's Executive Committee and has played several important leadership roles at Brownstein including co-chair of the firm’s nationally recognized Real Estate Department and lead shareholder on some of the region’s largest real estate developments. Portfolio Transactions Rob’s experience representing companies with large real estate portfolios help him efficiently manage deals. He supports one of the largest private holders of retail properties in the U.S. Rob coordinates its acquisition, disposition and financing while providing strategic advice to the company’s leadership. Development Rob’s practice spans the life cycle of commercial real estate transactions—acquisition, financing, leasing, development and disposition—of retail, industrial office and multi-family, master-planned communities. He is known for his work on The Streets at SouthGlenn, an urban lifestyle destination that includes nearly one million square feet of retail space, 140,000 square feet of office space and 200 for-rent luxury residences. Rob led the developer through the myriad of issues related to large-scale real estate development, including joint venture structuring, public-private partnerships, construction contracts and loans, land use, condemnation, leasing, corporate and municipal tax and environmental issues.
