Rekha Roarty

Rekha Roarty is a Texas litigation attorney focusing on construction and real estate issues in the central Texas area. While the majority of Rekha's cases are in the Austin area, Rekha takes cases as far north as Bell County and as far south as Bexar County. Rekha handles cases from all stages, starting from the initial consultation through the discovery process through hearings before the Court and all the way to final trial or arbitration. While always prepared to try a case, Rekha is also comfortable resolving a case at mediation when it best suits her client's needs. When needed, Rekha is also available to help her clients navigate construction contracts, from both the homeowner and the contractor side. As a construction lawyer, Rekha is also familiar with the struggles faced by both homeowners and contractors. Rekha is well versed in the Texas Property Code, including the Residential Constructional and Liability Act ("RCLA") and the rules regarding liens. As a result of Rekha's commitment to deeply understanding the law, Rekha is a member of the Texas Bar College, an invitation-only group of attorneys who are interested in high ethical standards and improved training for all Texas Lawyers. Rekha is a graduate of both Baylor Law and Baylor University and, as a result, is proud to be called a "Double Bear." As a Baylor alum, Rekha sits on the board of the Austin Baylor Law Network as part of the steering committee and volunteers to teach Continuing Legal Education classes to other Baylor alumni regarding basics in construction law. Outside of the law, Rekha enjoys serving the Austin community by being an active member of the Junior League of Austin and a part of the fundraising committee for Travis County CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), a group that promotes the interests of children who are abused or neglected. Above all, Rekha's favorite activities are spending time with her husband, Chris, and their toddler son, Kiran.
