Paul Simonson

For over 40 years, Paul Simonson has dedicated his efforts to the representation of victims of medical malpractice who have suffered from serious injury and death. He is one of the nation's leading attorneys in the area of weight loss surgery malpractice, including Gastric Bypass and Lap-Banding, and has lectured at Harvard Medical School on patient safety issues in weight loss surgery; to the American Association of Hospital Risk Managers on hospital based gastric bypass issues; and for the American Conference Institute on the management of post-operative leaks following gastric bypass surgery.Mr. Simonson recently authored a chapter in the 3rd edition of Medical Malpractice In New York dealing with the cross- examination of the defense expert. Paul has lectured throughout the United States on pre-trial and trial practice, and appears regularly on behalf of the New York State Bar Association. Paul's aggressive work on behalf of his clients was rewarded when in 2010 - 2017, US News recognized the firm as only one of seven "First Tier" New York City medical malpractice law-firms. He also has been recognized as a Super Lawyer for a number of years and as a Best Lawyer since 2006. Paul practices in New York and New Jersey.
