M. Frances "Fran" McCracken
About M.
Ms. Frances McCracken, a founding Partner of Brown Gren Abraham & McCracken, was admitted to the Colorado Bar in 1988 after graduating from the University of Colorado School of Law, where she was a Rothgerber Moot Court finalist and Professorial Assistant teaching appellate advocacy. Ms. McCracken clerked for the late Honorable James M. Robb before joining a Colorado insurance defense firm, where she became a shareholder. For the past 30 years, Ms. McCracken’s practice has concentrated on the defense of insurance companies and their insureds in a variety of cases, primarily workers’ compensation, but also including motor vehicle accidents, premises liability and appeals. She handles claims before the Colorado Office of Administrative Courts through the appellate courts, including the Colorado State District Courts, Court of Appeals, Supreme Court and the U.S. District Court. In the area of workers’ compensation, Ms. McCracken represents self-insured and insured employers, third-party administrators and insurance companies in the defense and litigation of matters throughout the State of Colorado. She represents a wide array of clients from small businesses through Fortune 500 companies, including nationwide retail stores, food production and distribution companies, energy companies, home health agencies, residential care facilities, local school districts and multiple large insurance companies. Ms. McCracken is experienced in all aspects of the litigation process, including pre-litigation, discovery, depositions, hearings, trials and appeals, as well as arbitration, mediation and case settlement. Ms. McCracken is a past board member and President of the Women’s Resource Center, past Director of Hilltop Rehabilitation Hospital, past board member and President of the Warren McKerrow Aids Foundation, and recipient of Colorado Mesa State University’s Outstanding Young Alumni Award. Ms. McCracken has, on multiple occasions over the years, presented seminars and training for employers and adjusters on issues involving workers’ compensation. Recognizing the concern of her clients for prompt service and control of costs, Ms. McCracken prides herself on providing assertive, professional and ethical service on a timely basis at a reasonable expense for her clients in all forums. She is strongly committed to client service, and is highly results-oriented.
