About Kyle
Kyle R. Fontaine, a native of Orlando, Florida, is a partner in Wicker Smith’s Orlando office where his practice focuses on civil litigation, medical malpractice, premises liability, product liability and professional liability matters. In 2013, Mr. Fontaine graduated from the Honors Program cum laude with a triple major in Economics, Political Science, and International Studies from the University of Miami. While a freshman, Mr. Fontaine co-authored an article, Pattern in Escalations in Insurgent and Terrorist Activity, that was published in Science Magazine. He played club lacrosse for the duration of his time at Miami. Also during his four years at the University of Miami, he received the Presidential Certificate for Academic Excellence from the Institut d’Etudes Politiques (Sciences Po), a university specializing in the Political Sciences located in Paris, France. He then went on to receive his Juris Doctor cum laude from Washington and Lee University School of Law in Lexington, Virginia in 2016. While in law school, Mr. Fontaine competed in a variety of moot court competitions. He was a brief-writing finalist and oral semifinalist in the John W. Davis Appellate Advocacy Moot Court Competition. He went on to serve as the chair of the John W. Davis Competition and as a member of Washington and Lee’s Moot Court Board. He was also the regional runner-up at the New York City Bar Association Moot Court Competition. Mr. Fontaine served as a junior articles editor for the German Law Journal and was a member championship-winning and two-time runner-up, law school football team. During his final year at Washington and Lee, he served as a law clerk for the United States’ Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Virginia, where he prosecuted petty crimes in federal district court. Mr. Fontaine was admitted to practice in the State of Florida in 2016 and is an active member of The Florida Bar.
