Kathleen (Kathy) Love, partner at New Mexico-based McGinn, Montoya, Love & Curry P.A., has practiced as an attorney for over two decades. She focuses on representing individuals against for-profit and government entities. Throughout her career as an attorney, she has tried a number of high-profile criminal and civil cases, most recently including the Torres v. APD case involving a police shooting incident. For her accomplishments, Kathy Love holds a Martindale-Hubbell AV-Preeminent ranking from her peers and is listed in the Best Lawyers in America and Super Lawyers publications. In addition to her experience in private practice, Kathy Love spent three years with the New Mexico Public Defender Department, where she served in the Felony and Metro divisions. A supporter of justice initiatives, she is the president of the New Mexico Trial Lawyers Association and is on the American Association for Justice Board of Governors. She also contributes to pro bono service providers, such as Legal Aid New Mexico and Equal Access to Justice New Mexico. Kathleen Love earned her BS from Ball State University and her JD from the DePaul University College of Law. She also attended the National Criminal Defense College. Beyond her professional and nonprofit activities, she enjoys hosting game-watching parties with her husband and son, both of whom, like herself, are avid Major League Baseball fans.
