About Jason

Jason concentrates his practice in trusts, estates, and taxation. Jason builds estate plans for individuals, keeping in mind their family values, goals and needs, and desire to protect and care for their family and loved one while minimizing taxes. Jason also assists individual fiduciaries and professional trust companies with probate, trust and estate administration, family settlement agreements, and all matters related to trusts and estates. Jason enjoys pre-liquidity event planning for entrepreneurs and investors to protect assets and minimize taxes. Jason frequently structures and implements advanced planning techniques, such as grantor retained annuity trusts and installment sales to grantor trusts. Jason also has substantial experience representing clients in the acquisition and ownership of private aircraft to ensure compliance with the legal requirements of aircraft ownership, including with sales, use, property, and income tax law and federal aviation regulations. Jason is Board Certified in Estate Planning and Probate by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and is a Certified Public Accountant. Jason is an Editor of The REPTL Reporter, State Bar of Texas (2009 - Present), served as President of Estate Planning and Probate Section, Austin Bar Association (2011-2012), and Chair, Estate and Gift Tax Committee, Tax Section, State Bar of Texas (2010-2011). Jason is a Sustaining Life Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation and Fellow of the Austin Bar Foundation. Jason graduated from Northwestern University School of Law, Chicago, IL in, 2002, cum laude, where he was a member of the Order of the Coif and Associate Editor of the Northwestern University Law Review. Jason received his undergraduate degree in Accounting and Business Administration from the University of Kansas.
