Jared Caplan has spent nearly two decades representing clients in the construction and oilfield industries. His multi-faceted experience ranges from trusted advisor on business operations to his successful prosecution and defense of multimillion-dollar litigation matters. Jared’s experience includes dispute resolution, contract disputes, toxic tort exposures, insurance coverage matters, personal injury, wrongful death, property damage and premises liability. He has successfully handled litigation involving down-hole failures, pipeline ruptures, and other related bodily injury/property damage matters arising from well site activities. The experience typically required in such matters includes the ability to manage major catastrophic loss investigations, analysis and enforcement of insurance and indemnity obligations related to Master Service Agreements (MSAs), evaluations of safety programs and protocols, and investigations, negotiations and resolutions of OSHA citations through informal settlement and formal contest proceedings. Jared also represents both general contractors and subcontractors in commercial construction and multimillion-dollar infrastructure construction projects. This work includes enforcement and defense of Master Services Agreements (MSA) and operating agreements, as well as representing clients in OSHA disputes and personal injury/property damage and delay claims. Jared serves as a mediator and holds a certificate in Mediation and Alternative Dispute Resolution Procedures from the A.A. White Dispute Resolution Center at the University of Houston Law Center. He is also a contributing editor to The Business Suit, a publication of the Defense Research Institute, where he reports on current legal matters relating to commercial litigation in the U.S. Court of Appeals, Fifth Circuit. He has represented clients in Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Colorado, Arkansas, Wyoming, Utah and Pennsylvania.
