Janelle E. Sharer

Janelle E. Sharer practices in the area of commercial litigation, including products liability, complex commercial litigation, and insurance coverage and bad faith. Her experience includes contract disputes, business litigation, and complex products liability litigation, including medical device, pharmaceuticals, and consumer products. She represents corporations in employment matters. She also represents insurance companies in high-stakes coverage and bad-faith cases nationwide. Janelle has worked on trial teams in products liability cases, and regularly handles state and federal appeals. She has prepared numerous experts for deposition and trial testimony in disciplines such as toxicology, pathology, statistics and tax issues. She has been peer-selected for her commercial, insurance, employment, and appellate work among "Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch." Before joining the firm, Janelle served as a law clerk to the Honorable Jacques L. Wiener, Jr. of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and as a law clerk to the Honorable Eldon E. Fallon of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana. Janelle also served as an intern to the Honorable Lance M. Africk of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana. Janelle received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California at Los Angeles and her Juris Doctor from Tulane University Law School magna cum laude. While in law school, she served as a Notes and Comments Editor for the Tulane Law Review and as a Senior Fellow for the Legal Research and Writing program. After graduation, Janelle was appointed to serve as a junior member of the Louisiana State Law Institute. Prior to law school, she taught fourth grade in New Orleans through the Teach For America program.
