A Lafayette native, Jimmy earned his Juris Doctorate from Louisiana State University Law School in 1986. During law school, he authored an article entitled ”Native Born Acadians and the Equality Ideal“ 46 LA. Law Rev. 1151 (1986). He is admitted to practice in all federal and state courts in Louisiana, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and the U.S. Supreme Court. He is also admitted to practice in Texas. He is currently Treasurer of the Francophone Section of the Louisiana Bar Association. In his 30 years as an attorney, Jimmy has dedicated his trial practice to various areas of law including maritime personal injury, automobile accident litigation, law enforcement litigation/civil rights issues, product liability, negligent highway design and defects, medical malpractice, workers’ compensation and constitutional issues. In addition to his selection to Best Lawyers, Jimmy has been selected to Super Lawyers (Personal Injury General Plaintiff), ”Top Attorneys in Louisiana“ and the Million Dollar Advocates Forum. He formerly served on the Board of Directors of the Counsel for the Development of French in Louisiana, Lafayette Parish Bar Association and the Louisiana Trial Lawyers Association.
