About
Kent Newsome serves as Chair of the firm's Houston Real Estate Practice. He has more than 25 years of experience that includes commercial real estate, real estate development, health care acquisitions and development, financing transactions, and general business law. Kent regularly represents owners and developers of commercial, retail and industrial properties in the acquisition, financing, development, leasing, management and sale of income producing properties, including office buildings, shopping centers and manufacturing facilities. He represents lessors and lessees in the negotiation of commercial, retail and industrial leases. He also represents owners and developers of health care facilities including hospitals, medical office buildings and surgery centers. In addition to his legal practice, Kent has served as an adjunct professor at the University of Houston Law Center where he teaches courses in advanced real estate law. Prior to joining the firm, Kent was a partner in Fulbright & Jaworski LLP's Houston office.
