Ivan A. Sarkissian, co-founder of McConaughy & Sarkissian, P.C., was admitted to practice law in Colorado in 1997 and is admitted to practice in all Colorado state courts, the United States District Court for the District of Colorado, and the United States Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals. Mr. Sarkissian received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Michigan State University in 1993 and attended the Tulane University School of Law, obtaining his Juris Doctorate degree, cum laude, in 1997. While in law school, Mr. Sarkissian was an associate editor of the Tulane Journal of International and Comparative Law. Mr. Sarkissian is a trial attorney whose practice is focused on serving developers, designers, builders, and contractors. As an experienced litigator, Mr. Sarkissian has represented hundreds of clients in payment disputes, bid protests, termination, delay and disruption, mechanics liens, and defective construction. With his experience as a litigator, Mr. Sarkissian counsels clients on project risks and management of risk through drafting of contract language. Mr. Sarkissian has an active alternative dispute resolution (ADR) practice and serves on the American Arbitration Association (AAA) construction panel of neutral arbitrators. The subject of the matters Mr. Sarkissian has handled is broad and includes disputes exceeding $100,000,000.00. Subjects include claims involving public-private partnerships (PPP), high rise residential and commercial development, industrial and warehouse facilities, resort and entertainment facility development, marijuana grow facilities, civil infrastructure improvements, including water, sanitary and storm sewer claims, stormwater management claims (SWMP), environmental contamination, groundwater, and claims related to construction-related products.
