Erich C. Straub is an attorney concentrating on fiance and marital visas, family immigration, citizenship, asylum, and deportation defense. He has been licensed since 1994. He has been recognized since 2006 in Best Lawyers, the oldest and most respected peer-review publication in the legal profession. Best Lawyers named him ”Lawyer of the Year“ for Milwaukee in 2016 and 2018. He was also included in Super Lawyers from 2009 to 2014. He was chairperson of the Wisconsin Chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and served on the AILA Board of Governors from 2007 to 2009. Attorney Straub is nationally recognized for exceptional advocacy for his clients and has taught these skills to other immigration attorneys nationwide for 18 years. Since 2018, he has been a faculty member at the annual three-day Trial Advocacy College in Kansas City. He is the founder and chair of the yearly AILA Chicago Courtroom Skills Workshop. From 2006 to 2103, he was a faculty member at the American Immigration Counsel’s Litigation Institute. Attorney Straub has spoken to audiences throughout the U.S. and has appeared on local radio and television on the topic of immigration. He has worked to improve laws that affect immigrants on both the state and federal level and has traveled to Madison, Wisconsin and Washington DC to meet with elected officials regarding immigration issues. In 2008, the Milwaukee Business Journal described him as a ”national leader on the federal immigration issue.“
