About Eric
Eric Core, an attorney with Lerch, Early & Brewer, co-chairs the firm's Estate Planning & Probate group. Widely respected for his extensive knowledge of estate and tax law, Eric has been helping people with estate plans and trust and estate administration for more than 30 years. Eric works closely with personal representatives and trustees on all aspects of estate and trust administration to ensure they fulfill their fiduciary responsibilities. Eric also has an extensive background in sophisticated tax controversy work in the areas of estate, gift and income taxes. Born in Clinton, Iowa, Eric received a Bachelor of Business Administration, with high honors, as well as his Juris Doctor, with highest honors, from the University of Iowa. In law school he became a member of the Order of the Coif. Eric also earned a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Taxation, summa cum laude, from Georgetown University Law Center. He is admitted to practice in Maryland and the District of Columbia. Eric has taught continuing education courses in real estate taxation for CPAs and real estate brokers at Montgomery College. He has been included in "Best Lawyers in America" in the area of trusts and estates since 2005 and was named a "Top Estate Lawyer" by Bethesda magazine. Eric enjoys playing golf and watching baseball.
