David S. Kahn is the leader of the 45-lawyer Real Estate Practice Group in the Washington, D.C., and Northern Virginia offices of Holland & Knight. Mr. Kahn has practiced for more than 30 years in the areas of commercial real estate development and finance, and commercial leasing. During that time he has participated in the structuring, documentation and closing of complex real estate transactions involving the development, leasing and/or financing of more than 25 million square feet of office buildings, shopping centers, hotels, warehouses and mixed-use projects. Mr. Kahn represents many of the largest and most active developers and owners of commercial real estate in the Washington, D.C., area, including Teachers' Retirement System of the State of Illinois, John Hancock, Lincoln Property Company, AEW, Goldman Sachs, West*Group, Jamestown, BlackRock Realty Advisors, MRP Realty, Fidelity Investments, KBS Realty Advisors, Jones Lang LaSalle, BPG Properties, RREEF, Hart Advisers, The Manufacturers Life Insurance Company, Invesco Realty Advisors, Donohoe Real Estate Services, American Realty Advisors, Brickman Associates, Americas Capital Partners and Kennedy Associates. Prior to joining Holland & Knight in 1994, Mr. Kahn was a partner in the Washington, D.C., law firm of Dunnells, Duvall & Porter, where he had practiced since 1988. Before that time, he was a partner in the law firm of Glassie, Pewett, Dudley, Beebe & Shanks, where he had been since 1977. Mr. Kahn served as a law clerk to The Honorable John F. Doyle of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia in 1976-77. Mr. Kahn has been named as a "best lawyer" in numerous legal publications, including Chambers USA, Best Lawyers in America and The Legal 500.
