Mr. Cantrell is an associate in the firm, practicing primarily in the areas of construction litigation and general commercial litigation. Mr. Cantrell assists owners, contractors, and subcontractors in the negotiation of contracts and resolution of disputes involving the breach of contracts, delay claims, lien claims, defective construction, and licensing disputes. Mr. Cantrell also has experience handling claims involving fraud, insurance coverage disputes, violations of the Tennessee Consumer Protection Act, and representation of owners and management companies in landlord/tenant disputes. Mr. Cantrell is a native of Big Stone Gap, Virginia. He graduated from Virginia Tech in 2009 with a B.A. in philosophy. Mr. Cantrell earned his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Tennessee College of Law in 2021. He is a member of the Knoxville Bar Association, the Tennessee Bar Association, the Tennessee Association of Construction Counsel, and the Associated General Contractors of America. Mr. Cantrell serves as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Tennessee, where he teaches construction law.
