He advises on and regularly litigates federal and state constitutional issues touching on politics, in contexts ranging from election recounts to strategic litigation against governments to preparing amicus briefs for appellate courts. Chris plays an integral role in ensuring political processes serve the public interest. As counsel for Colorado Concern, a coalition of high profile business leaders, he led the litigation team that secured a Colorado Supreme Court decision striking down an executive order that would have changed Colorado’s petition requirements. He also won an emergency injunction requiring the leadership of a state legislature to stop using computers to ”read“ bills faster than listeners could hear them. Outside of the office, Chris continues his passion for politics serving as co-chair of the Republican National Lawyers Association. In 2012, he served as deputy general counsel for Mitt Romney’s presidential campaign.
