Chris Williams has a diverse civil litigation practice, with experience in Federal Court, Shelby County Circuit Court, Chancery Court, Probate Court, and General Sessions – Civil Courts. He concentrates his practice in areas of business and commercial, insurance defense, employment, and civil rights litigation. Chris is dedicated to improving Memphis by fostering personal and professional connections in the legal community and beyond. In that vein, he recently completed a fellowship with the New Memphis Institute and is an Associate with the Leo Bearman, Sr. American Inn of Court. He regularly volunteers his time by supporting Memphis Legal Line and providing pro bono services at the Second Saturday Legal Clinic. Chris has been on the Board of Directors for the Young Lawyer’s Division of the Memphis Bar Association since first being elected in 2017. He is currently Vice President of the YLD and will become the President in 2022. He received his Juris Doctoris with academic honors from Washington University in St. Louis. During law school, Chris was a judicial intern for both the Honorable Jon Phipps McCalla and the Honorable Stephen C. Williams. Additionally, he was a staff editor for the Wash. U. Jurisprudence Review, competed on the Saul Lefkowitz Moot Court Team, and worked in the Entrepreneurship & Intellectual Property Legal Clinic. Chris also spent a semester in New York City working in-house at the global headquarters of Anheuser-Busch InBev SA/NV. Prior to joining Spicer Rudstrom, PLLC, Chris was an attorney with Black McLaren Jones Ryland & Griffee, P.C. He is licensed to practice in the State of Tennessee. Prior to receiving his J.D., he received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Missouri S&T and worked as an engineer for multiple Fortune 500 automotive and medical device companies.
