    Charlie is well-known to New Hampshire judges & lawyers as one of New Hampshire’s foremost civil trial attorneys and mediators. He concentrates in the areas of: Civil rights litigation; Private mediation and arbitration; Employment litigation; and Other complex civil litigation in federal and state courts and administrative agencies. Charlie has been a Fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers (ACTL) since 2010; a Fellow in the American College of Civil Trial Mediators since 2013; a Member of the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals since 2011; and AV-rated with Martindale-Hubbell since 1997. He continues to be selected by his peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America® in Concord, NH for Mediation and Arbitration and Civil Rights Law; and in Concord, NH by Super Lawyers® for Civil Rights/1st Amendment, Employment/Labor, and Mediation/Arbitration since 2007. He is also named by Best Lawyers® as Concord’s 2023 ”Lawyer of the Year“ in Arbitration. Charlie has over 41 years of civil litigation trial experience in New Hampshire. Charlie has served as a member of the New Hampshire Bar Association’s Ethics Committee, Dispute Resolution Committee, and Mentor Program. He also has served on the federal court and state court mediation programs. Charlie has appeared before the Supreme Court of the United States, United States Court of Appeals for the 1st Circuit, United States District Court for the District of New Hampshire, New Hampshire Supreme Court, and all New Hampshire trial courts and administrative agencies. Personal Background Charlie was born in Philadelphia, and raised in Camden & Cherry Hill, New Jersey. Charlie was an award-winning NCAA wrestler in college, and now enjoys more leisurely activities, such as fly-fishing, gardening, travel, reading, and LSU football. Charlie tried, briefed, and argued Rumery v. Town of Newton, 480 U.S. 386 (1987), which is the seminal case on police ”release-dismissal“ practices in the United States. He is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire and University of Baltimore School of Law. Charlie is admitted in New Hampshire, the United States District Court for the District of New Hampshire, the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts, the First Circuit Court of Appeals, the Second Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.
