Bruce Sostek is Co-Chair of Thompson & Knight's Intellectual Property Practice. He focuses his practice on intellectual property, complex commercial litigation, technology, and business counseling, primarily in the areas of computer hardware, software, telecommunications, the Internet, sports, media, and entertainment law. He has tried cases involving patent, trademark, or copyright infringement; theft of trade secrets; unfair competition; and other intellectual property concerns in federal courts throughout the country and at the International Trade Commission. Mr. Sostek also counsels clients on the identification, valuation, licensing, and litigation of intellectual property assets and on how to use intellectual property to advance strategic business objectives. Mr. Sostek is a member of the American College of Trial Lawyers and has been included among the "500 Leading Lawyers in America" by Lawdragon. He is regularly listed as one of The Best Lawyers in America®, Chambers USA "Leaders in Their Field," Texas Super Lawyers®, and as a Best Lawyer in Dallas by D Magazine. This year he was recognized as a "Top Notch Lawyer" in Intellectual Property Law by Texas Lawyer, one of four lawyers in Texas to earn that designation, in addition to having been designated as the "Go-To Lawyer" in 2007, the number one position in Texas. According to "The World's Leading Patent Litigators 2011" published in the inaugural IAM Patent Litigation 250, Mr. Sostek is "an assertive lawyer who doesn't back down for his clients and is much respected among judges, jurors, and peers."
