Alice Haston represents entities and individuals in the areas of business, real estate, and trusts and estates. Alice helps her clients maximize the impact of their work and giving while facilitating efficient dispute resolutions. Much of Alice’s practice focuses on trust and estate planning and litigation, real estate litigation, and non-profits. Alice recognizes that for her clients to focus on their missions, they need effective management and governance. She works closely with her clients to establish beneficial structures and minimize the likelihood of liability. When issues or disputes threaten her clients’ interests or utilization of gifts and funding, Alice uses her advocacy skills to obtain favorable outcomes. Her clients include public charities, homeowners’ associations, charter schools, and educational organizations. Committed to helping others, Alice also has an active pro bono practice that includes the representation of death row inmates in Tennessee. Alice is a 2020 graduate of Vanderbilt Law School, where she was a member of the Order of the Coif, Moot Court Board, and the Vanderbilt Journal of Entertainment and Technology Law. She also served as a student attorney in the Youth Opportunity Clinic. Prior to law school, Alice taught eighth-grade English for several years in Louisiana and Georgia. Alice graduated summa cum laude from the Chancellor’s Honors Program at the University of Tennessee.
