    About Albert

    Albert Telsey focuses his practice on all aspects of environmental compliance, counseling and litigation as it relates to redevelopment and the purchase, sale, lease, mortgage, foreclosure, condemnation and cleanup of contaminated property in New Jersey. Albert also provides counseling and guidance on renewable energy and energy conservation programs for land owners, local governments and solar developers. He has been named a Super Lawyer in environmental law by New Jersey Monthly Magazine for the past few years. Albert is an instructor for Rutgers University and the New Jersey Redevelopment Authority. He also hosts his own popular seminar entitled, ”10 Clever Ways to Buy/Sell Contaminated Property in NJ,“ which is approved for 2.4 CLE credits. He has been an expert witness in NJ litigation matters involving contaminated property. Albert began his environmental career in the 1980s as an environmental prosecutor with the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office where he handled significant cases against Ciba-Geigy, American Cyanamid and others. Since 1989 he has been in private practice where he handles environmental matters related to real estate transactions, environmental due diligence, permit compliance, cleanup cost recovery, property damage litigation and environmental torts. He recently represented Ringwood in an environmental mass tort associated with a former Ford Motors superfund site. He is a Master with the New Jersey Environmental Inns of Court and is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association, the Newark Regional Business Partnership and the New Jersey Commerce and Industry Association. He writes and speaks extensively on environmental matters and is the author of the Environmental Law Handbook for the State of Delaware. Albert was Co-President of the Children’s Museum of New Jersey, to be located in downtown Newark. He is an avid runner.
