About Teresa

Teresa Valderrama is a partner in the firm's Houston office. She has more than 25 years of experience representing employers in all aspects of workplace law, including corporate investigations and compliance, wage & hour collective action defense, and defense of all manner of discrimination, workplace harassment and other work-related claims. This includes advice and counsel regarding trade secrets/business-asset protection, defense of the Sarbanes–Oxley Act (SOX) and other whistleblower claims, and litigating all manner of contract and tort claims arising in the workplace. Certified in Labor & Employment Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization since 1993, Teresa is one of seven Texas employment lawyers– and one of only two women – ranked by Chambers USAin its top tier of employment practitioners in the state. Teresa has been recognized by The Best Lawyers in America since 1999, including as its 2014 Houston Labor Law - Management "Lawyer of the Year," and also by Texas Lawyer as a Texas "Super Lawyer." Teresa currently is a member of the Texas State Bar Labor and Employment Law Section Council, and is a frequent speaker on a variety of workplace law issues.
