T. Dylan Reeves is a Senior Associate in McGlinchey’s Commercial Litigation practice group. Based in our Birmingham office, Dylan is an exceptionally experienced trial lawyer who has taken and/or defended hundreds of depositions, tried numerous cases to verdict before juries, and served as lead counsel for several bench trials. He has represented companies in a broad range of business, corporate, and commercial litigation, products liability, medical malpractice, shareholder disputes, toxic torts, class actions, title insurance defense, multidistrict litigation, and structured settlement and annuity transfers. Dylan has defended individuals and companies sued for libel, defamation, and slander with multiple published opinions from the Alabama Supreme Court. Although much of his practice deals with business disputes and consumer finance, few trial lawyers have his breadth of experience or record of success in broad-based business litigation. Effective litigation requires a kind of strategic pattern recognition, which only comes from experience. Thanks to the depth and breadth of his experience, Dylan has seen, and handled, almost every litigation situation imaginable. This makes him both exceptionally efficient, because he knows firsthand how a matter will probably play out, and remarkably skilled at thinking several moves ahead and correctly anticipating how a case will play out. He’s seen it, he’s done it, and his clients benefit from it. Dylan understands that the cost of defense can sometimes present greater exposure than the underlying legal issues. He manages his cases accordingly, and can often craft strategies that quickly surface dispositive issues, and resolve cases quickly and definitively. In so doing, he also monitors industry issues and legal trends, both keeping his clients abreast and when appropriate, leveraging an emerging legal issue to his clients’ advantage. Whether on his feet as a courtroom lawyer or looking over the horizon as a strategist, Dylan is a major asset to every one of his clients.
