He is known for his work on troubled power projects involving high-dollar claims in courts and arbitration inside and outside the U.S. Mike Shanlever devotes his practice to stakeholders in complex capital projects, particularly in the energy, industrial and infrastructure sectors. Across the globe, Mike advises state-owned entities, private owners, contractors, and suppliers throughout the life cycle and claims process of EPC, design, and construction projects. Mike has litigated and arbitrated billions of dollars in claims concerning schedule disputes, cost overrun, performance guarantees, regulatory compliance, change order disputes, and defective design/construction claims. Mike leads large litigation teams and experts in protracted litigation through trial and other evidentiary proceedings. He has substantial experience in state and federal courts throughout the country, domestic arbitration, and international arbitration.
