About John
John represents both debtors and creditors alike in bankruptcy and workout situations. He has a long and distinguished list of successful first chair Chapter 11 representations and is familiar with all aspects of workouts, lender liability, creditors’ rights, and bankruptcy law. John has also practiced in the area of banking law and commercial transactions, including asset based lending, supplier agreements, commercial contracts, sale and purchase of debt instruments, and equipment finance. John is proactive in helping clients deal expediently with crisis situations and counsels clients to best position themselves to avoid or mitigate risk of loss in dealing with financial crises prior to or as a part of in court proceedings. Prior to private practice, John led the workout group of the in-house legal staff within the banking law department at a large national bank. He began his law career as a law clerk to U.S. Bankruptcy Court Judge Robert J. Sidman. John is a former U.S. Army officer and served on active duty as the Chief of Operational Law for U.S. Army Special Forces Command at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
